Manage speakers within a coordinated conference system
The TOA TS-D1000-MU is the master control unit for the TS-D1000 digital conference system. It connects chairman and delegate units, manages active microphones and records meetings. It is a component to consider when a room needs multiple speaking positions at the table and coordinated meeting control.
Size the system around speaking positions
One master unit directly connects up to 32 conference units using CAT5e STP cable. A system can expand to 246 units with up to five TS-D1000-SU sub-control units. The 246-unit limit applies to the expanded configuration, not direct connections to one TS-D1000-MU.
Confirm chairman and delegate counts, seating positions and cable routes before preparing the equipment list. The cable run from the master to the final unit is limited to 50 m; reaching 100 m requires an extension unit as specified by TOA. Up to two chairman and eight delegate microphones can be active simultaneously.
Record meetings and connect external audio
The built-in recorder saves MP3 audio to internal memory or a USB storage device. TOA specifies USB 2.0, FAT32 and a maximum capacity of 32 GB. Check the storage device and test recording and playback before the meeting.
The LINE output uses a 6.3 mm jack for external audio equipment; the REC output uses RCA. Feedback suppression is supported, but listening quality still depends on microphone and speaker positions, levels and room tuning.
Integrate with an online meeting system
The Video Conference System RCA input and output exchange audio with a compatible meeting system. These connections do not carry video. TOA describes the USB port for recording storage; it should not be treated as a USB audio connection for a laptop.
A complete online meeting setup also needs suitable video equipment and audio interfaces, with an agreed approach to acoustic echo cancellation (AEC). In-room feedback suppression and online meeting echo cancellation address different problems. The TS-D1000-MU alone is not a complete online meeting system.
