What is Panduit NetKey NUC6C04BU-C?

NUC6C04BU-C is a blue Cat6 U/UTP copper cable in a 305 m box. Panduit's catalogue specifies four pairs, 24 AWG conductors, an integrated pair divider and a CM-rated PVC jacket. It is intended for fixed cabling, with suitable connectors and patch cords forming the complete channel. Panduit catalogue, page 19.

The full part number matters: NUL6C04BU-C is LSZH, NUR6C04BU-C is CMR, and NUC6CR04BU-CE is a different variant. Check the box and cable markings against the quotation.

Applications and purchasing decisions

Consider this cable for indoor office, retail or school connections serving Gigabit Ethernet PCs, IP phones, access points and IP cameras. Its datasheet lists 1000BASE-T and IEEE 802.3af/802.3at PoE. Check the device's power class, switch compatibility, total power budget and cable bundling conditions.

U/UTP has no metallic screen. A pair divider does not eliminate all external interference. Routes near drives or large power equipment, outdoors or between buildings require a site-specific design. Full-distance 10 GbE or IEEE 802.3bt requires separate verification; do not infer those approvals from this cable's af/at datasheet.

IT teams need traceable, maintainable links; contractors need the specified material and link test reports; purchasing teams should compare cable, connectors, patch cords, installation and testing costs. Calculate each run and allowance before ordering boxes.

Build a complete channel

The fixed cable joins a patch panel to a wall outlet; patch cords connect the switch and end device. Panduit distinguishes a 90 m permanent link from a 100 m channel. A 305 m box is not a single Ethernet run length. Panduit link deployment guidance.

Accessories listed alongside this cable include the NK688MIW jack, NK6PPG24Y 24-port Cat6 panel and NetKey Cat6 patch cords, such as NK6PC1M with the appropriate colour suffix. For switches from different brands, check Ethernet ports, uplink speeds, PoE class and available power. Cabling alone does not establish network security: VLANs, administrative access and device updates need their own configuration.

Installation and acceptance checks

1. Check the exact part number, markings and batch documents; confirm that CM is suitable for the specified pathway.
2. NKDS29 specifies a maximum pulling tension of 110 N, minimum bend radius of four cable diameters and installation temperature of 0–50°C. Avoid crushing or deforming the cable.
3. Use connectors suitable for 24 AWG solid copper; apply T568A or T568B consistently and follow the connector instructions.
4. Label both ends, test the designed permanent link or channel and retain individual reports. Continuity checks and link LEDs alone do not establish Cat6 performance.
5. For PoE endpoints, verify operation and power at the device under the intended load.
